Drop In Learning Center:
The Math Factory is a drop in learning center where students in second through tenth grade go during the summer to boost their math skills. We focus only on teaching math. Members pay one low tuition for the entire summer and attend as often as they like for up to 90 minutes, depending on grade level and maturity. Our students work all problems the old fashioned way with paper and #2 pencils.
Our commitment to you is that we will increase your child’s math skills, their understanding of math concepts and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude towards math.
The Math Factory is the only drop in math learning center in Central Pennsylvania that is owned and operated by Philip and Cathy Richardson, parents of three school age children in Lancaster County.

What Is A Drop In Learning Center?
A drop in center is a location for your child to get math instruction when it’s convenient for you. An appointment is not required. Your child can attend The Math Factory when ever we are open, no appointment necessary. No matter when then attend they pick right up where they left off. No boring repetition of math problems your child already knows.
The Math Factory uses a sophisticated software tool (Accelerated Math™) normally available only to school districts. Accelerated Math grades, tracks and reports your child’s progress to you, his or her teacher and our staff.
It prints assignments custom designed for your child, and won’t let your child advance to new material until demonstrating mastery of current objectives. Accelerated Math isn't used to instruct your child, nor does your child sit in front of a computer to do math. It simply allows our instructors to devote 100% of their time to helping your child, not doing busy work.
We start off your child's instruction by using sophisticated math evaluation software, Star Math, to assess your child. The Star Math results create a baseline from which we measure all future progress. We are going to take the foundation being built at school and use it to accelerate your child’s math learning. Computer technology is used only to track and report on progress, never to instruct students.
Students advance through math objectives only by mastery of base objectives. They work at their own pace and when they need help simply raise their hand. Even if your child does not ask for help we know immediately when to intervene and provide individualized assistance. Our students get excited about learning again because of the instant feedback and advancement to new material only when they are ready to handle it.
The Math Factory will create individualized assignments aligned with state standards and national guidelines, so rest assured your child will learn math skills that will help them right now in their course work.
No two students at The Math Factory will be working on the same assignments. When we say customized, we mean it.
